Ok ,So right now we have a Physical Economy, and IMHO Dont mind it, but it can cause issues. this is how it currently goes, then ill show how i would like to change it, In my opinion for the better:
Currently its a trading system, using emeralds. Our main selling point is Spawners, But i would like to sell a bunch of items and offerings, With the possibility of a "donor Shop" that has slightly better offerings (not sure yet, but lets say if the server is buying 64 stone brick off you for 16 coal blocks, it could be made the donor-shop would get you a better buy, like 64 for 24 coal blocks or somthing) you basicly keep upgrading until you get emeralds, then emeralds can buy spawners.
That is the current market, Messy yes, Works yes, could it be made better? Most definitely in the long run with player-input.
We do want to offer spawners, and yes that may seem OP, but when you break it down like this its not bad: its factions, so if you kill someone enough you can claim there land, And take the land and its contents. And spawners are Really expensive, and take quite a but of time and resources to get.
so currently Cobble > stone > Stonebricks > coal > Redstone > Iron > Lapis > Gold > Diamond > Emeralds then you buy spawners with emeralds.
What i would like to change it to, is what i have experienced on many servers, and have seen it work, I would like to add in a Economy. before you ask, It wont effect faction size, or Land claiming (that can get messy) Nothing worse than worrying about Money + power in order to claim land or wage wars.
It will go somthing like this: Diffrent blocks can be sold, and purchesed in the shop. Selling cobble? $5 per stack will be paid to you (or similer) But would cost $15 to buy a stack. You could just about sell anything, for various amounts of server-based cash, And likewise Buy Various blocks or items for Cash. Each person would keep a balance.
That was we can have a better and more fluid economy, It will take a little time to set up (maby a hour or so of me doing signs) but the end product will be more reliable, and function better. Price input will vary on rarity of items, and quantity. Some will sell in stack form, some will sell per-block. We'll try to keep it fun and enjoyable for everyone, From someone who just starts, maby selling dirt or cobble, To someone more experianced selling Farmable material, mobdrops or ores.
it also would open up the possability if we want Donor's to be able to have a shop, they can buy and sell there own goods to people. Have an excess of steak? you could safely sell to people and not worry about a bad trade. This is up for discussion. and likewise, if anyone has anything to add go ahead and post it :3 if chaos likes the economy idea, i may get started as early as tonight.
